The mattress consists of three distinctive layers of foam and an easy-to-clean stretch derma waterproof cover. The infant side of this dual stage mattress is made with a firm foam which is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The toddler side’s top layer of cool gel foam makes the mattress more breathable and cooler. The cool gel draws heat away from the child’s body, creating a cooler sleep surface, which prevents tossing and turning, making for a more restful night’s sleep. The middle layer of foam is made with a wave core foam which promotes air circulation.
